Tintype Portrait Sessions

A tintype is a direct positive photograph made on a thin sheet of metal that has been blackened and hand coated with a photographic emulsion. It was one of the most popular photographic processes in the 19th century. The tintype is unique because it is a one-of-a-kind direct positive image. The very plate that is placed in the camera becomes the final photograph you keep. You’ll receive your tintype same day.

No future pop-ups scheduled at this time.

4x5" Tintype Session
30 Minutes
$100

This plate size is great for single portraits, couples’ portraits, or children. The above sessions include one tintype only (unless additional plates are purchased, available option when booking). Tintypes are one-of-a-kind objects and cannot be directly duplicated. You'll receive your original tintype same day. The tintype will be developed, rinsed, dried, varnished, and boxed up on site. Tintypes will be scanned and you’ll receive a scan of your tintype at a later date. Sessions do not include retakes unless there are clear issues with the image, such as closed eyes. Retakes are done at the discretion of the photographer.
